"My favorite part of each session is capturing that stolen moment,
I became a photographer when I was a teenager. My mother handed me her Canon Rebel and from there I just adored every aspect of it. I never really thought of photography in a business sense until I was in my 20's. Now almost 8 years later, I am finally a full time, small business owner living my dream.
My favorite part of each session is capturing that stolen moment, where the true, raw love and emotion shines through. Its like a little gift that the clients give me unknowingly and has even made me tear up at times. Silly, I know! Thankfully, it makes my clients tear up as well, so I don't feel quite as silly.
My favorite part of my Boudoir session is actually the Reviewing and Ordering appointment. This is where my client sees her images for the first time and it is such an incredible moment when a woman finally sees what others find so beautiful about her. As a woman who has struggled with body issues my whole life, its really incredible working to make every woman feels as beautiful as she is. We are our worst critic!
I grew up in Raleigh, NC and I currently live in Hope Mills with my husband and our little girl, Charlotte. Random info: her nickname is Bunny and my husband calls me Piglet. (PS. I was not happy at first but have come to love the term of endearment)
When Im not working on the business, chasing a toddler and cleaning up after 3 dogs and a husband, I usually find myself reading. I LOVE to read and dont have as much time for it as I used to. I also have a wonderful group of friends that we call the "book club" and while it started out all about books, now its all about books, life, wine and laughter.
I am a hoarder of books, coffee mugs and pony tail holders. I am training to run a marathon and so far I am loving it! I decided since I turn 30 in 2016, I wanted to make a 30 under 30 list. Running a marathon is at the top of that list and Im excited to say that I hope to run one before May 1st. I am really excited to explore who I am now that I am a mother, a wife, a business owner. Its funny how the core of us does not change but some aspects do. It is like I am constantly on an adventure through life and you never know will happen along the way!
I am an equal opportunity photographer. I will not turn down a client because of sexual preference. I will only turn down a client when it is a session that I know doesn't suit me artistically or will not produce the best images for that client. That rarely happens but I like to be fair and honest when doing business. If that were to happen, I usually refer the potential clients to other photographers in their area. I grew up watching my mother work 4 or 5 jobs as a single parent. She never quit and never complained. I definitely got my work ethic from her and I am extremely grateful of that.
I look forward to having you join the EAP family!
With love, Emma
